By accessing or using Edura ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the Service.
Edura is an educational platform designed for teachers and students. Use of the Service is subject to your compliance with these Terms and applicable educational institution policies.
2. Description of Service
Edura provides an AI-powered educational platform that enables:
- Teachers to create interactive, Socratic-style assignments
- Students to engage in dialogue-based learning with AI assistance
- Automated grading and feedback based on teacher-defined rubrics
- Class management and assignment distribution tools
The Service is intended for educational use only and should be used in compliance with your educational institution's policies.
3. User Accounts
Account Creation: You must create an account to use certain features of the Service. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
Account Security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
Role-Based Access: Accounts are designated as either "teacher" or "student" roles. You may not access features or data intended for a different role.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any illegal purpose or in violation of any laws
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers connected to the Service
- Use automated systems (e.g., bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission
- Share or distribute enrollment codes or other access credentials
- Submit false, misleading, or inappropriate content
- Violate academic integrity policies (e.g., plagiarism, cheating)
Academic integrity violations may result in immediate suspension of access and notification to your educational institution.
5. Academic Integrity
Edura includes features designed to maintain academic integrity, including:
- Copy/paste detection during assignments
- Tab switching monitoring
- Time limit enforcement
- Automatic detection of inappropriate content
Violations of academic integrity policies may result in grade penalties, assignment disqualification, or account suspension, as determined by your teacher or educational institution.
6. Intellectual Property
Service Content: The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Edura and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
User Content: You retain ownership of content you submit through the Service. By submitting content, you grant Edura a license to use, store, and process that content solely for the purpose of providing the Service.
7. Privacy and Data Protection
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect, use, and protect your information.
AI Service Providers: Edura uses third-party AI services (including OpenAI) to power conversational learning and automated grading features. By using the Service, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your conversations and assignment submissions may be processed by AI service providers to deliver educational features
- These AI providers maintain strong privacy protections, including not using your data for model training by default
- Data shared with AI providers is used exclusively for providing educational services to you
- AI providers may retain data temporarily (typically 30 days) for abuse monitoring and compliance purposes

Your Rights: You maintain all rights to your educational content and data. We do not sell or use your data for advertising purposes, and we require our service providers to maintain the same commitments.
8. Service Availability
We strive to provide reliable service but do not guarantee that the Service will be available at all times or free from errors. We reserve the right to:
- Modify or discontinue the Service at any time
- Perform maintenance that may temporarily interrupt service
- Limit access to the Service for any reason
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Edura shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Service after such changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.
